Outdo-Adopted!!

Today turned out to be Outdo's gotacha day. A very nice couple and their son came to see the hounds and they adopted Outdo. He was a perfect match for them and he was just what they were looking for. Outdo rode off to his new home and he is going to live happily ever after. Happy trails Outdo, we will really miss you! Joanie is still here with us and she is doing really well. She has a funny habit of trying to drag doggie beds all over the house. No matter where the doggie bed is, she feels the need to move it somewhere else. Too funny. If you would like to meet Joanie, please contact Denise Davis.

Outdo and Joanie

Both Outdo and Joanie are doing great jobs as foster dogs at the Hound Hotel. Outdo has been here a week and a half and has the routine down pretty well. His personality has continued to come out and he is getting to be a downright happy and very playful hound! He has plenty of energy and is really enjoying being a retired greyhound. He has learned that the alarm clock in the morning means that its breakfast time and he gets all excited about that. When he hears the beeping he jumps up off of his doggie bed and runs straight down the stairs to the kitchen. Joanie has been here since Sunday and she is doing great. So far she has learned the stairs and she is eating really well. She is catching on to the daily routine very quickly and we are very proud of her. She gets along well with our other greyhounds and should be fine with small animals as well. She has had no accidents in the house and we are having no issues with her. She is a lot of fun to have around. If you would like to meet Outdo and Joanie, please contact Denise Davis.

Lonesome Joanie has come to stay

Lonesome Joanie isn't going to be lonely anymore. Joanie has come to stay with us as it is her turn to get the full foster treatment. Joanie is going to get plenty of pets and have lots of fun at the Hound Hotel. Joanie is cute as a button and seems to be a very friendly and sociable greyhound. She is on the small side so she won't take up too much room either. She has already checked out the yard and is now checking out the house. I don't think we will have much trouble with her. I think she is going to be just fine. We will provide more updates as we learn more about her. Outdo is also still here and he is doing great. If you would like to meet either or both Outdo and Joanie, please contact Denise Davis. You can follow this link to view Joanie's complete pedigree and history: http://www.greyhound-data.com/d?z=I0eMLY&d=lonesome+joanie In the meantime, enjoy the photos(in the top photo, Outdo is on the left and Joanie is on the right) and video of Joanie.

Outdo-What a difference!

Outdo has been with us for four days now and what a difference those days have made. His personality is really starting to come out and we are finding out what he is all about. The first couple of days he was just a nice chillin' boy just learning the ropes and he did a great job at that. The last couple of days, especially today, he has decided that he is done being the new guy. He has decided that he is ready to patrol the yard and is letting everyone know that this is his place and he is watching over it. That is not a bad thing at all. He is still such a friendly and affectionate greyhound and we really love him a lot, and the fact that he is watching our house now is even better. That is very unusual for a greyhound that has been here for only four days. He still sleeps next to our bed and is no problem at all. Get this great dog while he is available! Call Denise Davis if you would like to meet this most excellent greyhound.

Outdo-Cool Runnings Mon

I think Outdo must be part Jamaican or something because he seems to have the no worries attitude of a Jamaican. Outdo has settled into our home and is doing great. After only a day he almost has the stairs mastered. Last night he picked out a doggie bed in our room and slept quietly all night long. No crate was needed for this chillin' boy. This morning he woke up and ate his breakfast like a horse and then went out to the yard with the resident hounds. He already seems to have the household routine down and he is making it very easy for us. Outdo is not a hyperactive dog at all and he is a very affectionate hound. He is really endearing himself to us as he is such a well behaved, respectful and friendly hound. If you are looking for a dog that will bounce off the walls and swing from ceiling fans, then this is not your dog. If you are looking for a chillin', Jamaican style dog, then Outdo deserves your consideration. When your neighbor's puppies are yapping out their windows all day, you can sit back with Outdo and say "No worries mon, it's all cool runnings."

Outdo has checked in!

Outdo has come to stay at the Hound Hotel until he gets adopted. He has only been here a short time and is confused and stressed, as all the foster dogs are when they arrive. Even so, he has checked out the yard and it seems to be to his liking. He is already drinking water well and is learnig how to lay on a doggie bed. He seems to be more affectionate than your average track dog at this stage as he is already coming to me to get lots of pets. That is a really good thing. My read on him at this point is that he is going to be a terrific companion that will be really friendly and fun to have around the house. He is 65 pounds, so he isn't too big either. He is a handsome brindle boy and I think he and I are going to be buddies pretty quickly. We will provide more updates as we learn more about him. In the meantime, enjoy the photos and video of him. What a day!

It has been a fantastic day at the Hound Hotel. This morning we went and picked up another foster dog named All Star. We brought him home and began working with him and shortly thereafter the phone rang. Aunt Denise sent a family to look at Becky and All Star. They adopted All Star! All Star was a hit with their family and it was obvious that he was the right dog for their family. Then another family came to look at Becky. They loved her. Who wouldn't? Needless to say, she got adopted too! Wow, two adoptions in one day! That is a fantastic day for us, and we congratulate and welcome two new families into the greyhound community. We did get to take photos of All Star before he got adopted, so above is a photo of him checking out the yard. What a fantastic day! The bad news is that I took tomorrow off to play and work with the foster dogs, and now we don't have any fosters! Aunt Denise says she will fix that and send us another foster greyhound tomorrow. We can't wait. We wonder who it will be. Whomever it is, when that greyhound gets here, he or she will be halfway home.

Becky met her fans

We took Becky to our meet and greet today and she did a fabulous job. She was friendly with everyone, great with the kids, and she had a great time. It is always a little interesting taking a foster dog to the meet and greets as it is usually their first time out in the world and we never know how they will react. Sometimes they are nervous and shy, sometimes they are ready to jump out of their skin with excitement. Becky did a great job and showed that she is a very well balanced greyhound and that she can handle the pressure of a new situation with no problem. We are very proud of her. After all the excitement, she is very tired. She will probably rest the remainder of the day. The photo of her is of her trying to recouperate after the meet and greet. I wish I could sleep under a potted plant and have no worries! If you would like to meet this terrific greyhound, please contact Denise Davis.

Becky's public debut!

Becky will make her public debut tomorrow at our meet and greet. She has been a fantastic foster dog and we love her very much. She is way too funny and too much fun to have around. If nobody wants to adopt her for a couple of years, that is fine with us, lol. She is just a joy to have around and she can stay as long as she needs too. Her tail wags a mile a minute and she is just a terrific greyhound. We hope she goes to a family that appreciates her love for life and her love for fun. She keeps us laughing and she will keep you laughing too. If you would like to meet Becky, come see us at the meet and greet tomorrow at the PetSmart in Glen Burnie(see Denise's list of events).

Becky learns the stairs!

Today was a big day for Becky. Today she learned to go up and down the stairs all by herself. We didn't even have to teach her, she just did it. As I wrote earlier, she is a pretty smart greyhound. We had better keep an eye on this one otherwise she might be running the place pretty soon. Becky is a lovable, tail waggin' kind of greyhound that is really fun to have around the house. She is doing great as a foster dog and is quickly learning what she needs to know to be a house pet. She is turning out to be one of the easier foster dogs we have had recently. She has had no accidents in the house and she is getting along beautifully with the resident hounds. We are having no issues with her at this point. She also has a healthy appitite so keep your pantry stocked with food and treats for her! If you would like to meet Becky, please contact Denise Davis!

Becky Jo settles in

We are pleased to report that Becky Jo is settling in well at the Hound Hotel. She gets along well with the resident hounds and she has been no trouble at all. We didn't bother crating her last night as she seemed happy to be with the family. She slept quietly in our room and it was no problem. She certainly is a tail wagging kind of dog and seems to be a very well adjusted greyhound. She is not shy at all and she will make a terrific ambassador dog. She is also a smart one as this morning she learned how to open our sliding screen door to the yard by herself. She let herself out twice this morning. That is a new one. We will continue to provide updates as Becky Jo progresses. You can view Becky Jo's entire history by following this link: http://www.greyhound-data.com/d?z=ICO3tb&d=gotcha+becky+jo&x=36&y=10

Becky Jo!!!

The Hound Hotel has been closed for a few weeks while foster mom and dad went on vacation. We got back last night and Aunt Denise sent us a new foster dog today. Her name is Becky Jo(Gotcha Becky Jo) and she is quite a looker. She is a 3 year old female and she is a little on the small side. We can already tell that she has a very outgoing personality and that she is going to be a fun dog to have around. She is a tail wagger and she is very attentive to people. That is a good thing. We will provide more updates as we learn more about Becky Jo. For now, enjoy the photos of her and please contact Denise Davis if you would like to meet Becky Jo.
