Gina-Adopted!!

Gina, our little cantina, has been adopted. We are a little slow on the post as we have been very busy at work. Gina has settled into a terrific new family and we couldn't be happier. She plays with her ball all day long and is a happy girl. We look forward to seeing Gina at the picnic, and everyone else for that matter. It is just a couple of days away! Gina is looking forward to a long happy life with her new family, and we wish her the best. Happy trails Gina! We will see you soon!

Gina Cantina!

Gina Cantina, our nickname for Gina, because there is a fun place near here with that name, is such a sweetheart of a dog. She is friendly, happy go lucky, and super cute. She has been so well behaved that she is a pleasure to have around the house. She has no problem with our other dogs and even gets along with our parrot. I love how she greets me at the door every time I come home. It is like the party starts all over again..she is so happy to see me. She has had a couple of accidents in the house but nothing too bad, and that won't last long. She is a really good dog, just a young one. We don't crate her at all anymore as that seems to be the best thing for her. She just sleeps quietly in our room with us and the resident hounds, and is no trouble. Are you looking for a terrific greyhound? Are you looking for a sweetheart of a girl? Gina might be just the one for you. Give Denise a call and schedule an appointment to meet Gina.

See Gina Eat!

We took a video of Gina eating her dinner a few minutes ago. It took a bit longer than 30 seconds, as mentioned in the last post, but not much longer. You can see for yourself how this girl can eat. She may look like a supermodel, but she doesn't eat like one. She eats more like a linebacker. She is also a snugglebunny. She likes to curl up and put her head in your lap and get nice pets. We love Gina. You will too. Call Denise Davis now.

Gina-Good dog

Gina has been at the Hound Hotel for three days now and she is doing great. She is proving herself to be a really good dog. She has plenty of personality but is not wild by any means. She is behaving herself very well and we are really enjoying having her here. We had some thunderstorms come through last night and she wasn't bothered much at all by them. She just found a nice corner and laid down for a while. She is also a voracious eater and may eat faster then any greyhound I have ever seen. She can finish two cups of dry dogfood in about 30 seconds. I may have to enter her in the Coney Island hot dog eating contest next year. I think she can give the pros a run for their money. In any case, we are going to spend the weekend having fun with Gina because I doubt if she will be around too much longer. There isn't anything not to like about her. If you have a cat, she is not the dog for you, but if you don't, then she deserves a serious look. She is definitely an A+ greyhound. If you would like to meet Gina, please contact Denise Davis.

DC Gina!

DC Gina, also known as Fiona, has arrived at the Hound Hotel. Fiona was returned after being in a home for six weeks because she is not cat safe. The cat in the home was just to tempting for Fiona and so she had to be returned. Fiona is just over two years old, so she still has some puppy left in her. She is a very playful and friendly dog with a bit of pep to her, but we are a little suprised that she is as well behaved as she is. When she first arrived, we thought she was going to be quite a handful to handle. That has not proved to be the case. Sure, she is curious about everything, and spent the first evening trotting around the house checking everything out. After that she has settled down and is making herself at home here. She is a tail wagger and she is very bonded to people. She slept quietly in our room last night with us and the resident hounds. She is getting along very well with our dogs and so far we are having no issues with her. Her former family told us that she is not fully house trained, but so far we haven't had any problems with that. She is going to make someone quite a great greyhound. She is a small female, weighing in at 55 pounds, so she fits perfectly on a doggie bed. She also happens to be a beautiful dog with one of the cutest faces we have seen in a while. If you would like to meet this little happy girl, please contact Denise Davis.

Candy and Ivan-Adopted!

Candy and Ivan rode off to their new home last night. They were all excited to get out of the Hound Hotel and get to their real home. Their new owner was just as excited to take them home. It looks like it is going to be a terrific match. Candy and Ivan are a couple of fun loving dogs and they are going to a terrific, fun loving home. We couldn't be happier. We wish them all the best and look forward to seeing Candy and Ivan very soon. Can you say, "meet and greet tomorrow at PetSmart?" In any case, Candy and Ivan were a pleasure to have around the house and they are always welcome to rest their paws here. Happy trails Candy and Ivan! We will see you soon!

Candy and Ivan-getting ready to go!

Candy and Ivan will be getting ready to go to their new home soon. They are scheduled to be picked up tomorrow. They have had a good week so far at the Hound Hotel, and should transition fairly easily into their new home. They slept through the night Monday night in their crates, and we thought we were in the clear on that one. Not so. Last night Candy decided protesting her crate was worth another shot. It was. We didn't want to spend another night listening to her, so we let her into our room. But of course, as soon as I toke her out of the crate, Ivan started protesting, so he had to come too. After a couple minutes of chaos, they both laid down and slept quietly through the night. We won't try to crate them tonight. They did fine in their crates during the day today. They both have very nice temperments and they get along beautifully with the resident hounds. We have had no problems there. Candy and Ivan are both still a little stubborn on the stairs. They can come down the stairs, but they won't go up. Maybe it is because they know the crates are upstairs and they just don't want to go that way. It will take a little more work to get them proficient on the stairs. In any case, their new owner is getting two terrific greyhounds that will give him many years of enjoyment. We look forward to seeing Candy and Ivan off to their new home tomorrow!
