Quatro rode off to his new home yesterday. We are very happy about that. He has gone to a good home that will take great care of him. They don't mind that he is a bed hog. Quatro looks like he should live happily ever after. We wish him all the best. That means that the Hound Hotel has put out the vacancy sign once again. The next foster dog shouldn't be too long in arriving. We don't know who it will be, but whomever it is, we will welcome their paws in our home. In the meantime, this will give us more time to spend with our new resident hound, Abe. He is doing great and we are thrilled to have him. Happy new year everyone!

Quatro gets his Christmas wish!!
I learned today that my parents lied to me about Santa. I always thought that Santa flew in a sleigh pulled by reindeer. I learned today that Santa actually drives a Honda. He doesn't live in the North Pole either. He lives in Virginia. Another shocker was that Santa and Mrs. Claus have two kids, grown up albeit, but kids nontheless. I was ready to bake cookies for Santa and leave them on the mantle tonight, but maybe a gift certificate for an oil change might be more appropriate. Santa and his family came to meet Quatro today and loved him. Who wouldn't? They have decided to give Quatro the Christmas wish that he really wants. All Quatro wants for Christmas is a forever family that he can call his own. He is going to get that. Santa has some business to attend to tonight so it may take him and his family a day or two to pick up Quatro, but they will get here as soon as they can. Santa's foster elves will take good care of Quatro until then. Have a Merry Christmas everyone! It certainly is turning out to be a great day at the Hound Hotel!

Bed Hog
Quatro is a bed hog. Quatro is so people oriented and so friendly that he always wants to be near us. That includes at night. I have spent night after night taking him off the bed and putting him where he belongs with the other dogs. It hasn't worked so far. He waits for a few minutes until he thinks we are asleep again and then gets back on the bed and lays his head on us. Last night he inched his way up the bed and was laying next to me until I woke up and realized it. I let him stay there for a little while before taking him off the bed. He might be one of the friendliest and most lovable greyhounds we have fostered at the Hound Hotel for a long time. While we don't like the bed hog routine, it is tough to be mad at a greyhound that loves his people so much. He is a beautifully behaved greyhound and as friendly as they get. He loves to get and give pets. If you would like to have him as your own bed hog, just give Denise a call and schedule a meeting.

Quatro-Be Very Afraid
Be afraid, be very afraid of Quatro. You think that you are just looking at another greyhound. Sure, he is beautiful, friendly, outgoing...like a lot of greyhounds... but he is a little different. Be wary of Quatro. He may spoil you for all future greyhounds. Quatro is an ususually friendly greyhound. He likes to bury his head in your lap for extended periods of time and receive lots of petting. He likes to sneak onto the bed at night so he can rest his head on your leg. If you walk around the house he will follow you. If you sit in a chair you can be assured his head will be in your lap within seconds. If you look at him he will helicopter his tail. Quatro will start out the first day seeming like most other greyhounds. By the second day you will see that he isn't. Quatro is always ready to be your best buddy, your loyal companion, and your foot warmer at night. Quatro has won the hearts of his foster family and we can't wait to see him get a forever home. Just be advised. If you already have a greyhound, he will be a most welcome addition to your home. If you don't already have a greyhound, you will assume that all greyhounds are like Quatro. They are not. Just one word to the wise. Quatro needs a buddy if he is going to be left alone at home. He is a very social animal and does not like solitude. If you would like to meet Quatro, please contact Denise Davis. Enjoy the photos of Quatro(the brindle) and our new boy Abe.

Quatro-He's a friendly boy
Quatro has been here for three days and he is a very friendly dog. He loves getting lots of pets and wags his tail a mile a minute. He is no trouble at all to have around and is behaving himself very well. He was having a few behavioral issues at his previous home, which we think had to do with some separation anxiety and being left alone all day. He is having none of those issues here. It would be best if he were placed in a home with another dog, not necessarily a greyhound, but just a buddy to keep him company. He is housetrained and knows all ropes around the house. All he needs at this point is a family to call his own. He will give you back every bit of what you give him. If you want a dog to sleep on your bed, look no further! He keeps trying to sneak up onto our bed at night and sleep at the end of the bed. We don't allow that, but that shows how people oriented he is. He just wants to be as close to his humans as he can be. If you would like to meet Quatro, please contact Denise Davis.

Quatro has arrived!
It has been a busy weekend already at the Hound Hotel. Yesterday we picked up Abe and adopted him. Today Quatro(AMF Ocean Breeze) was returned to us. Quatro is a three year old male that was returned due to no fault of his own. A change in his family and living situation made it so that his owner could no longer keep him. Quatro found himself living in an apartment and he didn't like that too much and the landlord said he had to go. Quatro will rest his paws at the Hound Hotel for a little while until we find a living situation that works a little better for him. We have only had him for a short while, but we can tell you that he is a really happy boy. He is a real tail wagger and already wants lots of pets. He is small for a male so he won't take up much space. He should be an easy dog to foster. He is already acclimated to home life and knows the ropes, so all his future family needs to add is some attention and affection to this boy. His pictures also show that he is quite a handsome young guy. If you would like to meet Quatro, please contact Denise Davis.

Honest Abe-Adopted!!!!
Abe came to us today as our 45th foster dog. He will be staying as one of the resident hounds. Abe is a superstar dog and we have been wanting a greyhound just like him for a long time. We had no idea that he would be coming and that he would be THE dog, but he is, so he will be staying with us. We have been at this business for some time and we know a great dog when we see one. The timing is right, so Abe will be living with us. We are thrilled that he came today and we knew within minutes that he was the dog we have been looking for. Sorry for the short post, but I want to go play with Abe some more. Have a great weekend everyone! Cheers to the greyhounds!
