Redneck-Found!!!!!

We just got some terrific news. Redneck has been found! The details are a little sketchy at this point but we just heard that a young boy was fishing and saw Redneck with her leash wrapped up around a tree in a wooded area. She apparently has been there for a while. He went and got his mother and they cut Redneck loose and she was able to stand up. She is pretty beat up from being tied to a tree for a while, but we hear she is going to be ok. She is at a vet hospital now and we are so relieved to hear that. One word to the wise.....never use retractable leashes with greyhounds. They can be pulled right out of your hand and can end up like this. Always use a normal leash, well wrapped around your hand, so even if the dog bolts, the dog is not lost.

Oh, poor Redneck...I can't imagine how scared she must have been! I hope she has a full and speedy recovery from such an awful ordeal!

Glad she is found and alive. I know when I adopted my first grey I remember reading the twenty thousand little reminders that all said NOT TO USE THOSE STUPID FLEXI LEADS. I guess some times we have to learn the hard way.

Thank Goodness she was found, and that she is now getting the care she needs! I cringe when I think how long she may have been trapped like that (without food or water?).
I hope she is on her way to a complete recovery.

I am so glad that Redneck (aka Honey) is home. I will now always make sure that I wrap the leash around my hand for a thousand times.

Omigod, I cannot believe they used a Flexi leash on a greyhound ESPECIALLY a young, active greyhound like Redneck. I am so glad she is ok. Wow... I hate to pick on the adopters, but how did they miss that Memo?
